Infrared Saunas and Tiredness

We love that we get so much feedback about how much our sauna users enjoy their sauna sessions and how much regular sauna use has improved their lives, and importantly their health – but some people find that infrared sauna does make them tired and want to know why they feel tired after sauna. Here are some reasons why you may feel tired after a sauna.

Saunas are Relaxing

Quite often when people start to relax and slow down, they can start to feel sleepy or tired. This is especially the case if you have a sauna session at the end of the day or after a workout. The great news is that many people report that their sleep improves when they incorporate regular sauna use into their lives, so relax away!

Dehydration & Overheating

We always recommend drinking plenty of water before, during and after your sauna sessions. If you’re finding the heat taking its toll on your body, set your sauna at a lower temperature or you can open the ceiling vent or door during your session until you reach a more comfortable temperature. We recommend a general sauna temperature of 45°C – 50°C

The Effects of Infrared Saunas

An infrared sauna creates a cardiovascular workout on your body and removes heavy metals & toxins. Whilst this is beneficial, it also may make you feel tired as your body adjusts and reacts.

If tiredness is an issue for you, our team will work with you to help you make the most out of your sauna so you can enjoy the benefits just like so many Australians we have helped over the years. We also provide ongoing support through regular health web events and we also have an online Found—Space support group.
